JAKARTA Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua gave a signal he could retire from boxing if he failed to beat Otto Wallin.

Two-time world champion Joshua, who lost the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO belts after losing against Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk, will clash with Wallin on Sunday, December 24 morning.

Joshua said that if until he did not win the duel above, his future in this sport would disappear.

"I know my goal in my life. However, I should also say [duel] this is [like] checkpoints and if I don't pass it, there is no future. So, I fully focus on Otto Wallin and do that job," Joshua said., quoted by Reuters.

If they win against Otto Wallin then Joshua will most likely meet former United States champion Deontay Wilder, early next year.

Wilder himself will board the ring on the same card as Joshua tomorrow in Riyadh. The former WBC belt holder will meet another former champion, Joseph Parker.

Joshua said that he was currently just really focused on defeating Wallin. He said he didn't think much further than that, especially the talk of fighting Wilder.

"My heart, my soul, every cell in my body is completely focused on Otto Wallin and doing what I know I can do," said the 34-year-old boxer.

After two consecutive defeats against Usyk in 2021 and 2022, Joshua bounced back with two wins over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius this year.
