Women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo stepped into the final of the 2023 Indonesia Masters badminton tournament after winning the battle of fellow Indonesian representatives Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi.

In the match which was held at the PBSI Sports Hall on Jalan Pancing, Medan, North Sumatra, the women's singles born on August 26, 2005, won with a score of 19-21, 21-15, 21-15 over Komang.

"Grateful to be given a win in this match, in today's match I played poorly in the first game when my opponent took control of the game. I have many doubts in making decisions so I have to be left behind," said the 2023 Indonesia International Challenge champion after the match, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

Ester admitted that she was overwhelmed by the face of Komang who took the initiative to attack from the start of the match. Luckily, in the second game, Ester's game was able to match Komang to force the match to continue into the third game.

In the final game, Ester was seen to dominate the match so that she was able to win within 53 minutes.

"Thankfully in the next game I played more calmly and took control of the game to win the game," added the 2022 BWF World Junior Championships semifinalist.

In that match, Ester was seen playing tirelessly even though her left thigh had cramps. The world number 69 women's singles struggle bore fruit considering that for the first time stepping into the BWF World Tour level tournament final.

I had cramps in the left thigh of this match. I then asked for treatment and so far it has not been a problem, added Bahrain International Challenge 2022 runner-up.

The 2023 SEA Games bronze medalist continued his positive trend when facing the women's singles from the Island of the Gods. At the last meeting in the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 final, Ester won over Komang through a rubber game 15-21, 21-14, 21-15.

This is the second time Ester has advanced to the final in two consecutive weeks after previously at the Indonesia International Challenge 2023 tournament.
