JAKARTA - Witan Sulaiman has joined training with Lechia Gdansk after returning from state duty with the Indonesian national team on Sunday, 19 June. His presence makes Lechia Gdansk coach, Tomasz Kaczmarek, relieved.

Kaczmarek admitted that he could prepare the next plan for the squad nicknamed Bialo Zielony.

"We've just spent a little time with him (Witan Sulaiman). He spent the autumn traveling with the national team and was on loan (to FK Senica). Meanwhile here we are dealing with the issue of improving the level of players," said Kaczmarek quoted from the Lechia website.

"Now he has come back to us so we can see his progress and decide what to do next," Kaczmarek added.

Previously, Witan was loaned to a Serbian club, FK Senica. Witan appeared quite impressive there.

After his loan period ended, Witan then focused on defending the Indonesian national team in the 2021 SEA Games and 2023 Asian Cup Qualification. He also performed equally well.

Apart from being relieved that Witan could rejoin the team, the coach also welcomed the presence of another player, Kristers Tobers.

The defender has also joined the team after playing for the Latvian national team. The return of Tobers makes the coach more confident in the strength of the team.

"Tobers has been in the team for a long time, we know him well. He is 100 per cent proven and we trust him completely. We just need to talk to him how he feels because now he has played four games for 90 minutes," said Kaczmarek.

"For him in general it is very good that he is able to beat himself and I hope we can use him soon so he can join in training."
