Writing Your Own Script, Taylor Swift Debuts Becomes A Feature Film Director

JAKARTA - Singer Taylor Swift is preparing to make her debut as a feature film director under the auspices of the Searchlight Pictures studio. Swift has written her own original script, and the script will later be produced by the studio. "Taylor is an artist and a teller of one generation. It is a sincere happiness and privilege to collaborate with him as he begins this exciting and new creative journey," said Searchlight President David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield in a statement quoted by The Hollywood Reporter, Monday, December 12. This isn't the first time Swift has directed an audio-visual work. Last year, he wrote and directed a short film for the song, titled All Too Well: The Short Film. The nearly 15-minute film was recently screened at the 2022 Tribecca Film Festival and TIFF 2022 with a 35mm print. All Too Well: The Short Film itself tells the story of a manipulative lover (starring Dylan O'Brien) and a young woman (starring milik Sink) who falls in love and is heartbroken after their separation. Prior to that, Swift directed her first music video for The Man, which is a song from the album Lover (2019). She continued to direct the music video for Cardigan's singles and mediates. Meanwhile, Searchlight Pictures recently announced some of its newest projects. Academy Award Nomination winner Yogos Lanthimos will be back for the studio through a film project titled And. He took Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe to star in the film.
