JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo (JMJ) which manages the Solo-Yogyakarta-YIA Kulonprogo (Jogja-Solo) Toll Road will operate functionally the toll road starting from the 22 kilometer (km) Colomadu-Ngawen (Klaten).

This is to support optimal services for people who travel back and forth and spend holidays in the Yogyakarta area during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri period.

President Director of PT JMJ Rudy Hardiansyah said that this functional route will be operated during the period of homecoming flow (one direction from Colomadu to Ngawen) on April 5-11, 2024 and during the period of backflow (one direction from Ngawen to Colomadu) on April 12-15, 2024.

"During that period, we opened a functional route for the Jogja-Solo (ruas) Colomadu-Ngawen Toll Road with operating hours starting at 06.00-17.00 WIB, which is allowed to pass through this functional route specifically for non-bus/small non-bus/vehicle Class I vehicles. As for the maximum speed, road users passing through this functional route are 40 km/hour," Rudy said in his official statement, quoted Thursday, April 4.

Rudy assessed that by passing through this functional route, people do not need to pass 15 points of Light for Traffic Signers (APILL). The travel time from the Colomadu Toll Gate (GT) to Klaten is only 25 minutes compared to the national road.

"The functional path of the Jogja Solo (ruas) Toll Road, Colomadu-Ngawen, Klaten, is part of the work phase 1 of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road," he said.

Different from the 2023 Christmas and New Year 2024 holiday services, this time the functional route is opened longer, reaching 22 km to Ngawen. As is known, during the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays, the route that was opened from Colomadu to Karanganom was only 13 km long.

This means, he said, PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo managed to increase the length of the road to 9 km. The functional path of the 22 km Jogja Solo Toll Road has stiff or rigid pavement in both lanes along 13 km and the remaining 9 km of rigid pavement has only been completed for one route. However, PT JMJ ensures that this functional path is safe for the public to pass.

The company also predicts that the traffic volume that will pass through this functional route will reach 1,000 vehicles per hour. This functional route can be an alternative route to avoid traffic congestion that often occurs in the Kartasura Delanggu Monument and Solo-Yogyakarta Highways.

Access to the functional route of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road from the national road can be accessed through the Banyudono GT access and from GT Colomadu. If travelers come from the Trans Java Toll Road, they can immediately continue their journey through GT Colomadu to the exit of GT Karanganom, exit access to GT Banyudono or exit Ngawen (Klaten).

Meanwhile, for travelers from arterial roads (non-toll roads) that will enter from Solo and Boyolali, motorists can enter through GT Banyudono access. On the other hand, during the backflow period, motorists can enter the functional route from Ngawen access (Klaten) and GT Karanganom to GT Banyudono or GT Colomadu.

Meanwhile, PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo has prepared officers to oversee the operation of the functional lane of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road so that it runs smoothly. For example, providing the Lebaran 2024 Command Post at GT Banyudono, Pantau Post at KM 13+000 and KM 19+000.

Then, there are police posts and Transportation Agency at Colomadu Access, Banyudono Access, Karanganom Access and Ngawen Access (Klaten).

"For road users who want to take a break or want to go to the toilet, we also provide toilet services and mobile gas stations along the functional route. If road users experience an emergency, we also provide infrastructure and supporting facilities, such as Mobile Customer Service (MCS), ambulances, rescue and free crane services to the nearest toll exit," he said.

"PT JMJ has also prepared instructions and warnings, such as speed limits, directional pointing signs and other information signs," he said.

He appealed to all motorists who will go home for Lebaran 2024 to drive in prime condition, obey traffic signs and comply with the 40 km/hour speed limit. Jasamarga has also prepared six Lebaran 2024 Command Posts along with the Police Command Post and Transportation Agency for motorists who need information or assistance along the Jogja-Solo functional Toll Road.
