BRI Reveals MSMEs Are The Wheel Of The Indonesian Economy To Advance In Class

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) Sunarso said Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the drivers of the Indonesian economy to advance to class.

According to Sunarso, from 1993 to 2019 Indonesia left the low income country to a middle income country because it was encouraged by MSMEs.

"Various studies that we will be able to advance to high-income countries with economic growth of 6 percent. We have also made statistical models, it turns out that the growth driver is very significantly influenced by the MSME-driven economy," said Sunarso at the opening of BRI Microfinance 2024 in Jakarta, Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Sunarso added that another thing that determines it is the quality of human resources related to education, and increasing added value through the development and growth of manufacturing. In addition, how to rotate capital nationally.

"So those 3 things, that's the most important thing, from there our background takes the theme of how we grow inclusively, the keyword is to grow and evenly. To be evenly distributed, community participation must be driven through inclusiveness," he said.

Sunarso said that inclusiveness can be obtained by reaching banking services in the community. BRI also responded to this study with various strategies in accordance with the focus of national development.

"Thank you, Mr. President, who has approved to grant an Ultra Micro Holding permit. As a result, the ultra micro holding has handled 44 million MSME credit customers," said Sunarso.

Sunarso said that with this creditor, the ultra micro holding has a total savings account of 173 million savings.
