JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has opened its voice about the potential for lost state revenue due to the policy of low-cost harggas or certain natural gas prices (HGBT).

Previously, the Deputy for Finance and Commercialization of SKK Migas Kurnia Chairi said that Indonesia had the potential to lose 1 billion US dollars or Rp. 15.67 trillion.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana rejected this. According to him, with this cheap gas policy, the state wants the domestic industrial sector to be more advanced by adjusting the gas needed by the industry.

"No! Nothing is missing," Dadan told mwdia when met at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Building, Wednesday, March 6.

Even so, Dadan admitted that if there was a decline in state revenue, this decline would then be compensated for by increasing the competitiveness of the domestic industry, industrial growth, increasing taxes due to low-cost gas policies.

"Not lost, but it is used by the industry so that the industry becomes an increasing competitiveness, tax increases, there are no layoffs," explained Dadan.

On the other hand, Dan also said that his party was still communicating with the Ministry of Industry regarding the continuation of HGBT after 2024.

"We are in communication with the Ministry of Industry to examine what is currently underway and to see the next follow-up," he continued.
