JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk and badminton Energy Asia Ltd. signed a commitment to supply gas/LNG supplies and develop gas/LNG infrastructure.

The potential is located on the seafront of the Aceh Region and is currently still in the further exploration stage.

The cooperation between PGN andmen is outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which was signed by PGN's Director of Strategy and Business Development Rosa Permata Sari and Managing Director & CEOoftur Miltos Xynogalas on Thursday 29 February at the PGN Office, Jakarta.

"This collaboration will be of important value for us to maintain the resilience of natural gas supply in various customer sectors. With the location of potential gas sources from Aceh, it means that this collaboration will utilize domestic gas supply for various future needs," said PGN Business Strategy and Development Director Rosa Permata Sari in a statement to the media quoted Friday, March 1.

Rosa hopes that this collaboration can run smoothly and comprehensively in order to achieve cooperation in natural gas commercialization.

Thus, continued Rosa, PGN's natural gas supply can be maintained as well as play a role in filling the gap between domestic gas supply sources and natural gas consumers in various regions.

"We welcome the agreement with good relations so that it can then be forwarded to the implementation plan. Of course, for the great support from the Aceh Government. In the future, with the government's target of Net Zero Emission in 2060, gas has an important role," said Rosa.

Rosa said, this collaboration is not limited to the fulfillment of gas supply purposes, this collaboration can be related to the development of pipeline gas infrastructure and LNG along with maintenance activities for gas facilities.

"With the importance of the value of this cooperation for PGN, support from the government, especially the Aceh Regional Government, is very meaningful and we are also very grateful for opening the door in Aceh," said Rosa.

According to Managing Director & CEOoften Miltos Xynogalas, this collaboration with PGN is very important to be able to distribute natural gas to the market properly.

With the technology we have, it is hoped that we can monetize gas and LNG with PGN to the market. We are also ambitious to channel cleaner energy. We believe that the energy transition requires gas where gas is the cleanest fossil energy and can play a major role towards Net Zero Emission," concluded Miltos.
