JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) revitalized the Old Big Office (KBL) in Tanjung Enim with the Green Building concept. Later, the building, which has been established since 1957, will be equipped with a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) Roof.

Consisting of 72 units of the Solar Panel, the total capacity of the Roof PLTS reaches 30 Kilowatt-peak (KWp).

"KBL rejuvenation is the implementation of the company's commitment to reducing carbon emissions. This building will be certified as Green Building," said President Director of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Arsal Ismail in a statement to the media, Thursday, April 13.

Not only Rooftop PLTS, continued Arsal, the building will also be equipped with various other facilities. Among them are a rainwater utilization system and AC condensate water for toilet patching, a Black Water utilization system for garden watering, and a Low-E specific window glass.

In addition, there are CO2 sensors, elevators for people with disabilities, Meeting Rooms and Auditoriums supported by the latest technology, Lounge, to parking facilities for bicycles.

With these various facilities, the revitalized KBL to Green Building is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 243 tons of CO2e per year. Meanwhile, the efficiency of energy use is estimated to reach 31 percent.

"This decarbonization step is part of the carbon management roadmap of PTBA until 2050 which will continue to be implemented and developed in a sustainable manner in each company line to provide optimal results," Arsal explained.
