PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government continues to intensify various programs and activities in efforts to control inflation rates in the regions, including through the balancing market.

"This balancing market is one of the efforts made by the provincial government to reduce the rate of inflation in the regions, in addition to other activities such as cheap markets, providing assistance and others," said Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Nuryakin, as reported by Antara from Palangka Raya, Saturday, December 24.

As for today, the balancing market is again carried out by providing 1,500 cheap food packages located in Laung Tuhup District, Murung Raya Regency.

In this balancing market, 1,500 packages of basic materials are provided for Rp. 150,000 per package. The provincial government provides a subsidy of Rp. 100,000, so that the community only redeems it at a price of Rp. 50,000 per package.

The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government hopes that the balancing market can help ease the burden on the community in meeting their daily needs, including maintaining purchasing power.

It is known, in the last few months the inflation rate of Central Kalimantan has been controlled, the decline can be seen from Central Kalimantan's (year on year) inflation starting from September 8.12 percent, then October 7.10 percent, to 6.97 percent in November.

"The government does not remain silent, the presence of this balancing market is a tangible manifestation of the government's presence in the midst of people who are in need of assistance," explained Nuryakin.

In the activity which was held in the field of the former MTQ in front of the Laung Tuhup District office, Laung I Village, it seemed that no less than a thousand residents came to share the benefits of the balancing market.

One of the residents, Yunita, appreciated the steps taken by the provincial government to implement the balancing market, because it helped ease the burden on the community.

"Thank you, we convey, with the holding of this balancing market which really helps the community, especially the underprivileged," he said.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, namely at the Arahman Mosque in Muara Tuhup Village, Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Nuryakin also distributed social assistance in the form of 250 food assistance packages to the local community.

The social assistance is intended for underprivileged residents, both those affected by flooding and inflation, so that it is hoped that it can ease the burden on residents.
