JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk continues its commitment to support the growth of the people's economy through the development of a digital ecosystem at Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta.

Deputy President Director of Bank Mandiri Askandar said this goal was implemented by facilitating transactions between sellers and buyers through the use of QR Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).

“This program will later be replicated in most people's markets. Through the synergy between the central government, local governments and regulators, we hope that this market digitization support will give Alexandra a positive impact in the form of increasing non-cash transaction activities, including encouraging MSMEs to advance to class," he said in an official statement on Thursday, August 11.

According to Alexandra, the company's presence will work on the market as an integrated ecosystem starting from suppliers, distributors, logistics, sellers and buyers in order to obtain banking solutions.

"We want that with market digitization, non-cash transactions can increase so that they can directly facilitate the payment needs of the community and of course contribute to the level of financial inclusion in Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bank Mandiri ceremony at Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta was witnessed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir. Furthermore, Alexandra explained that her party also organizes a cheap market program for workers and market employees by providing food packages worth Rp. 100,000 which can be redeemed for Rp. 10,000 per person.

"This is a form of Bank Mandiri's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to the surrounding community," he said.

On the same occasion, Bank Mandiri provided assistance in the form of repairing and revitalizing market infrastructure, including repairing kiosks, signposts, and building special access for people with disabilities, the elderly and pregnant women.

"We also implemented the Harapan Bangsa Shoes program by distributing 355 pairs of school shoes to the children and grandchildren of stall employees and market workers," concluded Alexandra.
