Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto accompanied President Joko Widodo to attend a bilateral meeting with the President of the European Union Commission, President of the Republic of Korea, as well as a business forum with Japanese investors, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.
During the meeting of the President of the European Union Commission, Coordinating Minister Airlangga participated in discussions on efforts to strengthen various strategic partnerships, including IEU CEPA negotiations, JETP and Global Gateway follow-up, as well as cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
"In addition, the Indonesian government has conveyed the development of Green Investment cooperation through the European Investment Bank (EIB) which has opened a representative office in Jakarta in August 2022," Airlangga said as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 22.
The meeting also discussed the issue of deforestation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, saying that she would meet the Indonesian delegation led by Coordinating Minister Airlangga in Brussels at the end of this month.
"At a bilateral meeting with the Republic of Korea, the Indonesian government conveyed the need to encourage concrete achievements that have a direct impact on the people of the two countries, especially in the economic sector," he said.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga also attended a business forum with investors from Japan who discussed various potential collaborations between Indonesia and Japan.
"Indonesia views positively the proposal to increase comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two countries," he said.
Currently, Indonesia and Japan are working together on several development projects, including the construction of the Patimban Port Access Toll Road, MRT Jakarta North-South, Bekasi Proving Ground, the Jakarta-Semarang semi-fast train route, and the energy transition between PT PLN and Sumitomo Corp regarding the energy transition program.
