DENPASAR - BUMN PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni Denpasar Branch deployed two motorboats (KM) to serve the 2024 Eid Transport from Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, Bali.

"We have deployed KM Tilongkabila and KM Awu," said Head of Pelni Denpasar Arfah Yusuf, in Denpasar, Monday, April 1.

For routine shipping through Benoa, Denpasar, Pelni Denpasar, four ships have been strengthened, namely KM Tilongkabila, Awu, Leuser, and Binaiya, with each capacity of around 1,000 passengers.

However, KM Leuser and Binaiya were assigned to serve the 2024 Eid Transport for areas in Java and Kalimantan.

The ship's assistance was carried out considering that the flow of homecoming and return to Lebaran at Benoa Port was not as dense as other areas in Indonesia.

For Benoa Port, Denpasar, passenger density usually occurs during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the majority heading to a number of destination cities in eastern Indonesia, as reported by ANTARA.

Meanwhile, routes served for KM Awu from Benoa Harbor to Bima-Wayapu-Ende-Kupang-Kalabahi (going home/PP).

For the KM Tilongkabila route from Benoa Harbor to Lembar-Bima-Labuan Bajo-Makassar-Bau Bau-Raha-Kendari-Luwuk-Gorontalo-Bitung route.

Based on the schedule of the Pelni passenger ship Denpasar Branch for the Eid 2024 Transport period, it is estimated that the homecoming flow will occur on Tuesday (9/4) and backflow on Wednesday (24/4) because in one day there are two cruise schedules.

Departure on Tuesday (9/4) is scheduled to be served by KM Tilongkabila at 08.00 WITA and KM Awu at 22.00 WITA.

Meanwhile, the return flow on Wednesday (24/4) is scheduled to arrive from Surabaya, which is planned to arrive at 07.00 WITA by KM Awu and from Lembar, NTB by KM Tilongkabila is scheduled for 12.00 WITA.

Arfah appealed for ticket purchases to be made through the Pelni Mobile application which is more efficient and easier.

Ticket purchases can also be made at the Pelni Denpasar Branch Office on Jalan Raya Kuta, Badung Regency, but local officers will guide prospective passengers to buy them through the online application.

Meanwhile, the feasibility test for Pelni motorboats that routinely operate at Benoa Port has undergone tests, one of which has been carried out by KM Tilongkabila at Benoa Port on March 10, 2024.
