Police Follow Up On The Case Of Finding A Body Under The Ancol Toll Road

JAKARTA - The police followed up on the finding of the body of a man with the initials AR (38) under the Ancol Pademangan Toll Road, North Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon (31/3).

"This body was found by officers from the Water Agency's Waste Management Unit (UPS) on Sunday at around 14.30 WIB," said Pademangan Police Chief, Kompol Binsar Hatorangan Sianturi in Jakarta.

He said that from the initial examination, officers did not find any signs of violence on the victim's body.

However, his party took the body to the RSCM for a "visum et repertum" (ver) to be investigated. "Currently the victim's body is in the hospital," said Binsar.

Unit (Panit) 2 Criminal Investigation Officer (Reskrim) of the Pademangan Police, Iptu Syaiful Hidayat, added that this body was found by two witnesses who worked on the edge of the Ancol toll road. Initially the witness received information that there was a floating corpse.

The two of them went to the location and saw a body floating in that time.

The two officers then contacted the police and personnel immediately came to the location and lifted the body.

"We did an examination of the body and clothes to obtain evidence of the cause of death and then the body was taken to the hospital for further examination," he said as quoted by Antara.

According to him, a number of evidences found in the victim's body were Identity Cards (KTP), photocopies of SIMs and debit cards.

"We processed the crime scene, collected evidence, examined witnesses and contacted the victim's family," he said.
