Surakarta Mayor who is also the vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka said there had been no discussion regarding President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was discussed as chairman of the grand coalition.

"Nothing, there is no such conversation yet," he said in Solo, Central Java, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 14.

Asked whether Gibran agreed with Jokowi's leadership at the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, he was reluctant to respond.

"Yes, I can't respond yet. Please ask the person who proposed it," he said.

Previously, the General Chairperson of Projo Budi Arie Setiadi assessed that the proposal of one party for President Joko Widodo to lead the party's grand coalition was only a political consideration that was still far away.

"That's political considerations for the next seven months. It's still a long time, you know. It's still seven months away, we still do a lot," he said.

He said that President Joko Widodo, who was proposed to be the chairman of the coalition of parties supporting the next government, was still too early, because President Jokowi's administration was still ongoing until October 2024.

According to Budi, there is still a lot to be done under President Jokowi's administration within those seven months.

On the other hand, Budi Arie also assessed that the proposal from one of the parties for President Jokowi to become the main leader of the party coalition was aspirations.

"The name is aspiration, what is called opinion, for certain things like the President. Yes, it's okay, it's just dynamic," he said.
