The forecast for extreme weather and high waves, he said, occurred along the southern coast of Garut at around 10:00 WIB causing high tides to overflow to the shoreline.
"Sea waves are somewhat increasing, tidal waves or water are abundant to the beach or to the shoreline," he said.
He conveyed that as a result of the high wave incident, a number of public facilities and fishing boats around the beach were damaged by the waves.
The danger of the wave, he said, is prohibited for fishermen to go to sea. Likewise, people do not approach the beach until the sea conditions are monitored to be stable or safe.
He conveyed that the Garut BPBD had also instructed all disaster volunteers in the southern region, then sub-district and village officials to continue to monitor the impact of the high waves.
