Bus Harapan Jaya Collision With Innova In Kediri, 12 People Injured

KEDIRI - The accident occurred between the Harapan Jaya bus and the Kijang Innova car in Semampir Village, Kota District, Kediri, East Java. 12 people were injured.

Kediri Police Traffic Head AKP Andhini Puspa Nugraha said the incident began when the bus bound for Surabaya-Trenggalek drove from east to west, Thursday, March 7 in the morning.

"The car was traveling from the opposite direction. At the time of the incident, the bus was traveling from west to east. The car driver took the wheel too to the right, resulting in an accident," he said, quoted by ANTARA.

Before the incident, the bus driver gave a signal by honking his horns many times. However, the car driver is getting to the right.

At that time, bus drivers had also tried to brake, but accidents still occurred.

"The initial assumption was that the driver of the deer was sleepy because he took the wheel too far to the right. We found the results of the crime scene (TKP) that the tire braking for the bus was still on the way, right," he said.

As a result of the incident, 12 people were injured both from bus and car passengers. They were taken to Bhayangkara Hospital Kediri and DKT Hospital Kediri City for further treatment.

"What we have data on are seven bus passengers, three bus crew and two deer from the car, namely the driver and passenger. No one died and is currently still in the process of being treated," he said.

Meanwhile, until now the police are still waiting for the condition of the car driver. If the condition has improved, the person concerned will be asked for information to complete the file and confirm the cause of the accident.

The bus that had an accident also fell into the rice field area. The evacuation process is carried out by involving a crane, because the depth of the rice fields is also quite deep up to 6 meters.
