JAKARTA - The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) said that in October 2024, state civil servants (ASN) are planned to have started working in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

Deputy for Bureaucratic Reform, Accountability of Apparatus, and Supervision of the Kemenpan RB Erwan Agus Purwanto said the transfer of ASN to IKN was adjusted to the agenda of changing the old government to the new government.

"If we look at that, of course, at the time of the inauguration of the elected president and vice president, in October, there should have been ASN there. So later, of course, October should have been running," Erwan said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

Until now, he continued, the government is still discussing the provision of special allowances for ASN who have moved to IKN, still taking into account the state's fiscal capacity.

"Later it will be delivered regarding special allowances for the first ASNbatch to move to IKN," he added.

Erwan said the plan was dynamic because it considered conditions on the ground. So, if the target has not been achieved, it will be adjusted to the needs in the field.

"The plan is dynamic; there is a target, there is a realization," he said.

Previously, Menpan RBABdullah Azwar Anas said the number of first batch ASNs who would move to IKN was 6,000 people, because the availability of places was not sufficient.

Anas said that currently there are only 47 towers in IKN, one of which contains 60 residential units for ASN, members of the TNI, anggora Polri, echelon I officials, and so on.

"In total, it was 11,916 that moved, but because the buildings there were ready for 6,000; then 6,000 will move first," said Anas in Semarang City, Central Java, Tuesday (20/2).
