Support Prabowo-Gibran, Erick Thohir Makes Sure Not To Use Facilities As Government Officials

Erick Thohir, Minister of SOEs, supports Prabowo-Gibran (doc. VOI).

JAKARTA - Erick Thohir decided to support candidate pair number two, Prabowo-Gibran, in the 2024 presidential election. He also made sure not to use facilities as government officials while campaigning.

"I do not use the interests or of course the existing facilities (to campaign)," he told reporters, in Jakarta, Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Erick also said that he would still work in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Volume II as Minister of SOEs until the end of his term of office under the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in October 2024.

"If I continue to work for Pak Jokowi. I work according to my main duties and functions. God willing, I will keep the mandate, I will work, but also at the same time I have a choice that I think is good for Indonesia," he said.

Previously, the Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs, Tsamara Amany, said that Erick would work hard to win Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election.

"We will see that Mr. Erick will definitely focus on campaigning, working hard, contributing to what he can to win Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Gibran," Tsamara told reporters, Thursday, February 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the TKN for young voters or Fanta Prabowo-Gibran, Arief Rosyid Hasan, said that during ministerial leave he could participate in the campaign.

"It's true that during leave, ministers can campaign. So, as long as they don't use state facilities, I don't think there are any problems and I think Mr. Erick gave an example today, he is on leave, that's why he can campaign," said Arief.
