Erick Thohir Focuses On Winning Prabowo-Gibran, Staff Of The Minister Of SOEs: Leave During Campaign

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir is rumored to be focusing on winning presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the remaining time before the vote.

As is known, the campaign period for candidate pairs (paslon) competing in the 2024 presidential election ends on February 10, 2024. Then, it will enter a calm period ahead of the vote on February 14, 2024.

Regarding the campaign's focus plan, the Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga explained that Erick would not apply for a long leave for the campaign. He said the leave would be submitted when there was just a campaign schedule.

"If the campaign is definitely on leave. After all, it's not a campaign every day, right. So it's only during campaigns," Arya told reporters, Saturday, January 3.

Previously, Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs Tsamara Amany said that Erick would work hard to win Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election.

"We will see that Mr. Erick will definitely focus on campaigning, working hard, contributing to what he can to win Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Gibran," said Tsamara to reporters, Thursday, February 1.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the TKN for young voters or Fanta Prabowo-Gibran Arief Rosyid Hasan said that during ministerial leave he could participate in the campaign.

"It's true that during leave, ministers can campaign. So as long as they don't use state facilities, I don't think there's a problem, and I think Mr. Erick gave an example today, he's on leave, that's why he can campaign," said Arief.
