South Kalimantan Quarantine Checks 501 Kg Of Swallow's Nest Worth IDR 3.7 Billion

BANJARBARU - The South Kalimantan Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine Center (South Kalimantan quarantine Agency) conducted an examination of swallow's nest with a total of 501 kilograms worth IDR 3.7 billion which will be sent to several areas, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, and Medan.

"Before departing through Syamsudin Noor Airport, quarantine officers carried out examinations of documents, physical examinations, and loading weights to ensure the suitability of types and numbers," said South Kalimantan Quarantine Head Sudirman, in Banjarbaru as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

After it is declared appropriate and feasible to be trafficked, then the Quarantine Officer then issues an Animal Product Sanitation Certificate (KH-12) as a requirement to be trafficked to the destination area.

Sudirman conveyed that the quarantine examination carried out was aimed at ensuring that swallow's nests that were trafficked were free from quarantine animal disease pests, and maintained quality and quality until they arrived at their destination.

The swallow's nest that was sent was still in the form of raw materials and would later be further processed at the processing site of their respective destinations before they could be consumed and enjoyed by the community.

Swallow's nest is one of the best-selling animal products in the market, including for export.

The commodities derived from swallow's saliva have many health benefits because they are a source of protein, carbohydrates, and a little good fat.

Swallow's nests are also often processed into exotic food with fantastic selling prices in a number of countries including Indonesia.
