There Are 1.1 Million Voters With Disabilities In The 2024 General Election, KPU Urges To Check DPT To Ensure Right To Vote

Head of Public Relations and Public Information of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Reni Rinjani Pratiwi appealed to voters with active disabilities to check the permanent voter list (DPT) in their area to ensure that the voting rights are fulfilled.

"Check everything to find out where the TPS is located, because in one village or RT there could be more than one polling station, and one polling station we limit only 300 voters," said Reni as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 15.

For people with disabilities who have not been included in the DPT to immediately contact election organizers at the district/city KPU, either at the sub-district or PPK level, or at the kelurahan or PPS level.

Based on the KPU's permanent voter list, it was recorded that 1.1 million people with disabilities had the right to vote and were registered in the legislative elections.

"The KPU strongly supports inclusiveness and continues to be facilitated. We strive from each election to the election to further facilitate and provide access to all voter friends, especially those with disabilities, to be easier to win their rights," he said.

The KPU also strives to continue to realize more concrete steps by providing access for voters who will exercise their voting rights.

"First, invite friends with disabilities to make sure they are registered as voters, check the DPT smartphone, on the cekdptonline.kpu.go.id page, there you just enter the NIK, it must have been seen where the voting will be," he said.

He also encouraged people with disabilities to help check the location of the polling station (TPS) so that during the selection of persons with disabilities it is easier to access the location.
