Luhut Regarding The Purchase Of Electric Motorcycles Is Still Low: The Subsidy Needs To Be Accelerated

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, asked that electric motorcycle subsidies worth IDR 7 million could be disbursed immediately. This is done so that the purchase of electric motorcycles can be even more attractive to the public.

"Now by Mr. Rachmat Kaimuddin (Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) is being pursued again so that the subsidy can come out quickly. Thus, people who want to change their motorbikes can also be more interesting for them," Luhut said in a video statement on his official Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan quoted on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Luhut said that accelerating the disbursement of electricity motor subsidies could also trigger a circulation of money. In addition, he also assessed that it is important to disburse the electric motor subsidy quickly so that it does not have an impact on other things that make the realization of vehicle purchases hampered.

"Of course (has an impact on) the circulation of money, it can run. Because people, if the money takes too long, don't pay, right, it's also a hassle," he said.

Based on data compiled by VOI from the official website of the Information System for the Provision of Two-wheeled Electric Vehicle Purchase Assistance (SISAPIRa) until Saturday night, January 13, 2024, at 21.22 WIB, the quota for the electric motor subsidy for 2024 is still 589,353.

Meanwhile, the number that has been verified has reached 2,320 and in the registration process it has reached 8,327. The realization that has been distributed throughout 2023 is 11,532 units.

As for the beginning of January 2024, the number of purchases of electric motorcycles with subsidies of Rp. 7 million from the Government is still quiet. This can be seen from the absence of the number of units distributed or nil.
