JAKARTA - The Kuala Lumpur Foreign Election Committee (PPLN KL) has received logistics to sort ballots for the 2024 General Election.

PPLN member Kuala Lumpur Puji Sumarsono said that facing the upcoming 2024 General Election, PPLN KL continues to prepare for the implementation of honest, fair, free, and secret elections.

This readiness, according to him, is shown by the availability of all election logistics such as ballot booths, ballot boxes, ballot covers for the method of Posts, pens, voting tools, padlocks, ballots, ink, and seal stored at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and guaranteed security.

He said the logistics held in Kuala Lumpur began to be received by PPLN on November 27, 2023, while the logistics sent by the General Elections Commission (KPU) had been received by representatives of the Republic of Indonesia to be submitted to PPLN witnessed by the Kuala Lumpur Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu KL) on December 21-23, 2023.

Logistics that arrived had also been sorted and re-checked to ensure that none of them were damaged and the amount was in accordance with the needs.

After being sorted, according to him, there were 452,065 (99.8 percent) of the DPR RI's ballots 451,692 (99.7 percent) of the Presidential ballots that were good and usable. Shortage of ballots will be immediately requested to the KPU.

At the same time, on December 26, 2023, the Overseas Voting Organizing Group (KPPSLN) has also been determined, and on December 27, 2023, the KPPSLN Pos has been inaugurated.

This KPPSLN is the spearhead for voting and counting votes at polling stations (TPS), mobile ballot boxes (KSK), and posts.

There are three voting methods in the working area of PPLN Kuala Lumpur. The first is through the Post Method from January 2 to February 14, 2024, where ballots will be sent to voters' addresses through Pos Malaysia with Post Laju services.

According to him, the Pos Laju service was chosen to minimize fraud because it allowed PPLN to track ballots sent.

Second, through the Mobile Sound Box Method (KSK) on February 4-11, 2024. KPPSLN officers will visit Indonesian citizens who work in refineries, fields, or those who live are concentrated in one particular area.

Third, through the TPS method on February 11, 2024, which requires participants to come to the TPS located at the World Trade Center (WTC) Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.

The vote count will be carried out on February 14, 2024, along with the vote in Indonesia.
