The Cianjur Police Narcotics Unit, West Java, arrested 21 suspected drug dealers of various types and illegal drugs from various sub-districts, 130 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 8,081 pills of various brands were secured.

Head of Cianjur Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Septian Pratama, said the arrests of dozens of suspected dealers since the last two months from a number of areas such as Cianjur, Warungkondang, Cibeber, Cidaun, Karangtengah, Cilaku and Cikalongkulon sub-districts.

"The arrests of dozens of people were due to cooperation and coordination with BNNK Cianjur and various groups in Cianjur, including residents who reported many suspicious activities in their respective areas of residence," he said.

He explained, to suppress the circulation and abuse of drugs in Cianjur, the police formed drug-free villages in a number of sub-districts which are located bordering other cities/regencies such as Sukabumi, Bogor and West Bandung which are prone to being used as distribution routes.

"We provide guidance and education to youth and the general public in drug-free villages to continue to try to narrow the space for drug dealers and abusers, so that Cianjur can be free from drugs," he said.

To suppress and narrow the space for drug trafficking in Cianjur, his party asked residents in each region to further improve the security of their neighborhoods and report immediately if they find suspicious activities.
