JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto said he was always careful in handling cases of alleged extortion against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who named Firli Bahuri as a suspect. I remind investigators to be professional," said Karyoto to reporters quoted on Friday, December 22. Currently, 6 research prosecutors are still examining the completeness, both formal and material. Prosecutors have had 7 days since the case file was received. Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22. Some of the evidence that became the basis for the determination of the suspect, namely, a valus exchange document worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there is also the results of 21 cell phones extraction.

In this case, Firli Bahuri was charged with Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
