KARANGASEM - A Foreign Citizen (WNA) from Canada with the initials BG (70) was found dead in a river near a villa in Nyuhtebel Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency, Bali.

Head of Public Relations of the Karangasem Police, Iptu I Gede Sukadana, said the victim was found dead at around 07.00 WITA in the river east of Vila Bayshore, Nyuhtebel Village, Manggis District, Karangasem.

"At 08.56 WITA, the victim was evacuated by the Karangasem Police identification team together with members of the Manggis Police and the Manggis Koramil. Furthermore, the victim's body was deposited in the morgue of the Karangasem Hospital for further investigation," said Iptu Sukadana, Monday, December 11.

The police explained that the witness who was also from Canada, GM, had seen the victim going to the bathroom at around 03.00 WITA. In the morning, according to witnesses, the victim was not in the room.

Witness GM then asked for help from the villa which immediately looked for the victim's whereabouts. The villa staff found the victim's sandals floating in the river.

At the location, the villa staff saw the victim was already in the river with the condition of death.

"The victim allegedly fell from a rooftop on the third floor with a height of approximately 10 meters. Temporary observations found several injuries in the victim's body including bruises on the victim's right side of the victim's face and right thigh allegedly broken," he said.
