The Merauke Police are investigating a single accident case on the Trans Papua Kilometer 52 road, which resulted in two deaths.

Head of Public Relations of the Merauke Police, Akp Ahmad Nurung, said that personnel from the Sota Police and the Merauke Police Traffic Unit for handling single accidents occurred, Wednesday (13/9) on Jalan Trans Papua Km 52 Merauke Regency, South Papua.

The accident was a single accident, where the Daihatsu Xenia car with the number PA 1841 GH with seven passengers entered the ditch on the side of the road.

The identities of the victims who died were AO (21) and AA (29) drivers. Meanwhile, the five colleagues, namely YA (27), NAS (22), RAR (21), EA (24) and RPS (24) suffered minor injuries.

The accident began with a vehicle driven by AO from Merauke to PLBN Sota but when it crossed Km 52, vehicles traveling at high speed had swerved and entered the ditch.
