Alternative Routes For Goods Transport During The Asean Summit (ANTARA)

YOGYAKARTA - The government limits the operation of goods transportation on 4 toll roads in Jakarta during the 43rd ASEAN Summit (KTT) which will take place from 5-7 September 2023.

The four toll roads are Cawang- Tomang-Pluit, Tomang-Pluit, Kembangan- Tomang, and Pluit- Kamal Muara.

For goods transportation to pass 3 alternative routes, along with the route:

1. Goods transport vehicles from the East (Bekasi) that will lead to the West (Tangerang) can distribute the Cikunir (East Linkar) Toll Road - South JORR (Outer Ring Road Toll) - JORR W2- JORR W1- Kamal Toll Road (Airport Prof Dr Sedyatmo) and so on.

2. Goods transportation vehicles from the West (Tangerang) that will lead to the East (Bekasi) can be via Kamal (Airport Prof. Dr Sedyatmo)- JORR W1- JORR W2-JORR Selatan-Cikunir Toll Road ( Lingkar Luas).

3. Vehicles transporting goods from the East (Bekasi) that will lead to the North (Tanjung Priuk) can be via the East Outer Ring Road - Tanjung Priuk Access Toll Road - and so on.

Acting Head of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) Agung Raharjo said that the traffic regulation that will be tried is in the form of operational restrictions on goods transport vehicles on several toll roads in Jakarta which will be implemented starting tonight.

"The operational restrictions on this object vehicle will take effect on September 5 at 00.00 WIB until it coincides with September 7 at 23.59 WIB," Agung said in a formal explanation reported Monday (4/9/2023)

However, there are some goods transport vehicles that are excluded and allowed to pass along the 43rd ASEAN Summit, starting from fuel oil (fuel) / fuel gas (BRG) vehicles, post logistics and money, basic food transportation consisting of basic necessities, bottled drinking water, and animal feed transportation.

"The object transport car that is not prohibited must certainly be equipped with a cargo message issued by the owner of the object being transported, a cargo message containing an explanation of the type of object being transported, the purpose of sending objects, the name and address of the owner of the object, and attached to the left front mirror of the object transport." said Agung.

The operational restrictions on goods transport cars along the ASEAN 43rd Summit are stated with traffic signs installed by business entities in the toll road sector. Not only that, officers will be alerted to control traffic.

Violations of the provisions of orders and prohibitions declared with signs, markings and traffic signaling equipment will be subject to sanctions under Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
