JAKARTA - One Indonesian citizen (WNI) was injured in an explosion at a firecracker warehouse and fireworks in the Kolok River area, south of Thailand.

Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha said the Indonesian citizen with the initials LM was allowed to return to his home in the province of Narathiwat, after previously receiving treatment at a local hospital.

"He suffered a nasal injury and hearing loss," Judha said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.

Judha explained that the Indonesian Consulate in Songkhla had visited LM and provided assistance to the woman because her house was damaged by the explosion.

"And we continue to monitor LM's health condition. Now we can be sure his condition is stable and can go home," said Judha.

The explosion that occurred on Saturday (29/7) resulted in 12 deaths and 121 injured.

More than 200 houses around the warehouse were damaged by the explosion, which affected 365 people.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident, with initial reports showing an error in the welding at the firecracker and fireworks storage warehouse.
