MEDAN - Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati North Sumatra) Idianto removed the female prosecutor with the initials EKT from the Batubara District Attorney (Kejari) related to the alleged extortion of S, an elementary school teacher (SD) related to his son's drug case. The EKT prosecutor was examined in the Supervision Sector.

Based on the results of the initial examination, the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office took the first steps, having secured the prosecutor with the initials EKT by leaving his position.

The examination was based on a case inspection warrant with the Number Number: PRINT-23/L.2/HI.1/05/2023 dated May 12, 2023, to carry out case inspections of unscrupulous EKT prosecutors.

On the basis of the order, on Monday (15/5) an examination of the EKT prosecutor, the reporting party, and related parties will be carried out.

"If the supervision examination is proven, the prosecutor will be further processed in accordance with applicable legal regulations. The EKT prosecutor has now been removed and has been withdrawn to the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office for functional examination by supervision," said Idianto as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 14.

If in the follow-up examination the prosecutor's results are proven to have made a mistake, said Kajati North Sumatra, firm action will be given.

"At every opportunity, we always remind all ranks to work professionally, have integrity, and maintain the good name of the institution, both during work visits, the Attorney General's briefing, and zoom briefing. If there are prosecutors who are proven to have made mistakes, they will be dealt with firmly," he said.

Kajati North Sumatra emphasized that the Attorney General always warned his staff not to mess around with the handling of cases. Therefore, there is no place for prosecutors to misappropriate positions.
