JAKARTA - A total of 30 semi-permanent houses were destroyed in Edi IX No.11 RT014 / RW0O6, Guntur Village, Setiabudi District, South Jakarta.

The fire was thought to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. Officer Moch Arief said his party received a report on Sunday, March 12, at 05.50 WIB.

"It is suspected that the electricity line in one of the rented buildings with semi-permanent building materials and the fire quickly spread, scorched approximately 30 houses," said Arief in his statement, Sunday, March 12.

Arief explained that as many as 105 personnel and 22 fire fighting units were deployed. The goal is to speed up the fire.

"(The result was) the beginning of the blackout at 06.00 WIB. The local government finished at 07.45 WIB," he said.

He ensured that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the loss reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"Losses of approximately Rp150 million," he concluded.
