More than a hundred drivers and entrepreneurs of excavation C demonstrated at the office of the East Kotawaringin Regency DPRD, Central Kalimantan asked the legislative institutions to fight for their fate so that they could return to making a living. "We haven't been able to work for 15 days. We're here to ask for help from you and your mother in the DPRD with the authority they have. They must be executed. Otherwise, this will drag on again," said Mahmud Ilham, one of the driver representatives during a dialogue in the DPRD plenary meeting room in Sampit, Antara, Wednesday, March 8. The drivers and entrepreneurs of excavation C demonstrated because they heard the news of the control by law enforcement officers, so they didn't operate. Actions seem to repeat the same action on the spot and with the same problem last year. After delivering the oration in the courtyard of the DPRD building, the demonstrators were accepted in the plenary meeting room. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman I of the DPRD Rudianur and attended by Police Chief AKBP Sarpani and Dandim 1015/Spt Lieutenant Colonel Inf Abdul Hamid. The demonstrators asked the DPRD together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to find a solution so that they can run their business safely and comfortably legally. "We want to arrange for an extension of the permit to the center but the provincial government states they are still waiting for instructions. I'm just waiting, but until now I don't know. We also don't want legal problems. If we are invited to take care of it today, we will join," said Ririn Rosyana, one of the C excavation entrepreneurs. Head of the Natural Resources Section of the East Kotawaringin Regional Secretariat, Rody Kamislam, explained that previously the authority regarding the excavation permit C was withdrawn by the central government, but is now again delegated to the provincial government as outlined in Government Regulation Number 55 of 2021. That way, the excavation permit process C is expected to be easier. However, to realize it requires implementation instructions and technical instructions through the governor's regulations which are expected to be issued soon. Rody added that the Regent of Halikinnor had given directions to record who wanted to apply for a C excavation permit so that it could be assisted. In addition, the regent also plans to immediately meet the governor to ask for assistance regarding the ease of obtaining the C excavation permit. "For this excavation C, the district government does not have the authority. It only provides recommendations regarding space permits, then the provincial government is fully under the authority. But we are always ready to help," said Rody. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman I of the DPRD Rudianur before closing the meeting, conveyed several important points as a result of the discussion. Local governments are also asked to immediately initiate the determination of the selling price of excavation C such as sand, land and stone. This is to prevent conflicts between entrepreneurs due to price competition. "Local governments are also asked to provide certainty that the excavation location C is in accordance with the governor's regulation. This means that the operation must be in accordance with the permit. So the local government cooperates with law enforcers, if anyone works to violate the governor's regulation, please arrest them," said Rudianur.
