The Karanganyar Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said the process of evacuating avalanche material that closed the Tawangmangu-Magetan route in Gondosuli Village was stopped due to weather constraints. The Head of BPBD Daily, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Bagoes Darmadi, said that the landslide material that blocked road access had not yet been evacuated. "Because the weather constraints from Wednesday morning to evening were still raining and foggy, visibility was between 5 and 7 meters. This condition is very dangerous if an evacuation process is carried out," said Bagoes Darmadi as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 15. He said heavy loader equipment assistance from the Central Java Provincial DPUPR arrived at the location to assist in the process of evacuating landslide material. Meanwhile, the excavators used during the process of evacuating avalanche material have since Tuesday been withdrawn for other activities. In fact, the current weather conditions are raining heavily, so it is not possible for evacuation to be carried out. Thus, routes from Tawangmangu and Magetan are still temporarily closed for vehicles. BPBD Karanganyar has coordinated with TNI personnel, Polri, and volunteers from various parties to get rid of landslides from the road, so that the route can return to normal. However, he said, according to a mutual agreement, between members of Forkopimcam, provincial DPUPR and Perhutani, the evacuation was halted and will resume on Thursday tomorrow by looking at weather conditions. For the time being, the route remains closed, traffic flow, either from Magetan to Tawangmangu or vice versa, is still diverted through the old route in the Blumbang area, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar. Nevertheless, his party appealed to road users to be extra careful when crossing the old route, because the terrain is quite extreme and the road is narrow. He suggested that large vehicles or large buses that want to go to East Java or vice versa from East Java to Central Java are advised to find other alternative routes, such as through toll roads or Solo-Sragen Highways that will be more comfortable. Previously, a landslide occurred on the Tawangmangu-Magetan route, precisely in Gondosuli Village, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, until Tuesday (14/2) night, the route was still closed so it could not be passed by vehicles. According to Karanganyar Police Chief AKBP Jerrold Hendra Kumontoy, the landslide incident in Gondosuli Village, Tawangmangu occurred at around 11.30 WIB, and caused large materials and stones to block the road, so that vehicles could not pass.
