MENTOK - The Library and Archives Service of West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province optimizes the role of mobile library cars to facilitate residents accessing quality reading books.

"Until now, two mobile library units are scheduled to continue to make visits to the community, reaching residents to remote areas," said Head of the West Bangka Regency Library and Archives Service Farouk Yohansyah as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 10.

Every time he visits residents, mobile library cars provide various types of books and readings that are tailored to the needs of local residents.

With the thematic reading book according to the location visited, it is hoped that it can provide inspiration and motivation so that residents are more productive.

"For example, if we come to a coastal location, then we prepare appropriate books, such as the skills of making processed fish foods, utilizing marine fishery products and the like, as well as when we come to agricultural areas, of course we prepare more agricultural books," he said.

With such a service pattern, it is hoped that the presence of mobile libraries can increase reading interest as well as encourage the growth of a creative and innovative mindset so as to improve people's welfare.

"To approach the book according to the needs of the community is one of the implementations of the national literacy program for welfare, this service pattern leads to it," he said.

The West Bangka Regional Library currently has a collection of 13,125 book titles with a total of 26,616 copies prepared as public reading material and the number of library members reaching 2,397 people.

Perpusda continues to strive to increase the number of books collected every year to enrich the collection as well as meet the needs of reading materials as needed.
