Wisman's Visit To Batam Increased By 79 Percent, Dominated By Singaporeans

BATAM - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded as many as 145,018 foreign tourist visits (tourists) to Batam City, Riau Islands Province, during December 2022, up 79.77 percent compared to November 2022 which reached 80,667 visits. Head of BPS Batam City Agus Kadaryanto said tourist visits during December 2022 occurred at the entrance to Ferry Batam Center, Nongsa Pura Port, Ferry Harbor Harbor Harbor, Sekupang International Port, and Hang Nadim International Airport. "If compared to December 2021, the number of foreign tourists visiting Batam City increased by 46,231 visits," said Agus Kadaryanto, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 3. He explained that foreign tourists visiting Batam City in December 2022 were dominated by Singaporean foreign tourists, reaching 100,276 visits. Meanwhile, visits by Malaysian foreign tourists were 16,153 visits, India 5,574 visits, China 2,753 visits, Philippines 2,206 visits, UK 747 visits, Australia 731 visits, United States 640 visits, Japan 167 visits, and Germany as many as 228 visits. "Of the 10 countries, most foreign tourists visiting Batam City were recorded to be Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, Thailand, Australia, and the United States, experiencing an increase in the number of visits in December 2022 when compared to the previous month," Agus Kadryanto said. Wisman visiting Batam City from January to November 2022, continued, recorded as many as 565,936 visits. He said the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in Riau Islands Province in December 2022, an average of 62.53 percent or an increase of 16.86 percent points compared to TPK November 2022 which reached an average of 45.67 percent. "The average length of stay for foreign guests and Indonesia at star hotels in the Riau Islands Province during December 2022 is 2.32 days or an increase of 0.01 points compared to the average length of foreign guest stay in November 2022," said Agus Kadaryanto.
