JAKARTA - The Bekasi Regency Government has deployed officers to visit elderly residents, people with disabilities, to people with mental disorders (ODGJ) to record population data needed for the issuance of electronic identity cards.

The Head of the Population and Civil Registration Office of Bekasi Regency, Carwinda, explained that the "pick up the ball" service in managing the identity cards of the elderly to ODGJ residents was carried out, among others, in Wibawamulya Village, Cibarusah District.

"Together with local village and sub-district officials, we carry out door-to-door e-KTP recording as an effort to provide excellent service to the community," he said in Cikarang, Friday, January 20, quoted from Antara.

He said that the "pick-up" service in e-KTP management for elderly citizens to ODGJ is part of the Simpro Program or ready to serve and simple processes in population administration services.

"We continue to strive to provide the best service to the community, both online and offline," he said.

Wibawamulya Village Head Firman Rully Zaelani appreciated the implementation of the "pick up the ball" service to make it easier for residents who have limited access to population documents.

According to him, this time the population service was carried out in four neighborhoods in the area for three people with disabilities, three elderly residents, and two ODGJs.

"This ball pick-up service is to ensure that every person or resident in Wibawamulya Village has an official identity or valid self-evidence without exception," he said.

He stated that the ownership of electronic ID cards will make it easier for residents who have physical and mental limitations to access social assistance programs from the central government and local governments.
