JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned of the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that hit Lampung, DKI Jakarta to South Sulawesi and a number of areas in Indonesia today, Friday, November 18.

In the weather early warning system, BMKG predicts provinces that have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds have the potential to occur in Aceh, Bali, Bangka Belitung, Banten, Bengkulu, DKI Jakarta.

Then, Gorontalo, Jambi, West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Lampung, Maluku, North Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara.

Then, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, West Papua, Riau, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, West Sumatra, North Sumatra and South Sumatra.

Previously, the BMKG asked the public to be aware of the impact of tropical cyclone seeds of 94S, in the form of heavy rain to high waves in several Indonesian waters.

Deputy for Meteorology of BMKG, Guswanto said that the seeds of tropical cyclone 94S were still being monitored around the Indian Ocean southwest of Bengkulu with a maximum wind speed of 25 knots and a minimum air pressure of millibar (mb) moving to the southeast.

"It is estimated that the potential for tropical cyclone 94S to grow into tropical cyclones in the next 24 hours will be in the moderate category," he said.

Therefore, he asked the public to be vigilant for areas affected by the seeds of tropical cyclone 94S.
