JAKARTA - For the first time, Queen Elizabeth II's signature will be displayed on coins issued by the Royal Mint, becoming a collection that is not to be missed.

The £5 coin collection, consisting of three designs, will be used to showcase the Queen's services in the year of the Platinum Jubilee.

The first theme is 'Honours and Investitures', the second is 'Celebrating 70 Years of Charity and Patronage' and the last is 'Serving the Commonwealth for 70 Years'.

"This year marks a truly special moment in royal history, The Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II," said Nicola Howell, head of commercials at the Royal Mint.

"To celebrate His Majesty's extraordinary reign, we are pleased to introduce a unique collection featuring his signature on all three coins for the first time."

"As the official maker of British coins, we are proud to have minted every coin during Her Majesty's reign and this special collection is a tribute to her commitment to the Commonwealth, her patronage and charitable work."

The coin of this collection was designed by Irish artist and illustrator PJ Lynch, whose design was inspired by and features the Queen's signature as a symbol of her personal commitment to others.

"While making this series, I initially focused on the Queen's hand, she often shakes hands, that's how she welcomes and communicates with people she meets," said Lynch.

"It makes me consider his signature, which is very symbolic, as an instrument of the state when he signs official documents, but also his personal promises and commitments."

These collectible coins can be purchased on the Royal Mint website. Prices range from £13 to the most expensive £2,865 for a gold plated coin and are made in limited quantities, only 250 pieces.

This year Britain is celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, making her Britain's longest-serving leader, with celebrations taking place outside Buckingham Palace on June 2-5. Ranging from military parades, street parties to music concerts.
