MEDAN - A cafe in Galang, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, was damaged by a motorcycle gang attack. The cafe vandalism was triggered by a dispute between motorcycle gangs.

Deli Serdang Police Chief Kombes Irsan Sinuhaji said the police had arrested 9 suspects who were still junior high school students.

"The incident itself began on May 22, when there was a dispute between a member of the GH (Garuda Hitam) and a member of the Z motorcycle gang (Zervanos) in the Galang area," said Kombes Irsan, Tuesday, May 31.

The GH member reported to his friends that he was beaten.

"Hearing this information, one member with the initials MRA who is currently on the run directed his other friends to take revenge," he explained.

Kombes Irsan said that on Saturday evening, May 22, the GH motorcycle gang received information that the group they were chasing was in a cafe in the Galang area.

"Furthermore, about 100 members of Genk GH gathered and rode around 50 motorbikes to that location, precisely at Cafe Pos Tiga," he explained.

Seeing the GH gang coming in large numbers, group Z immediately left the location. As a result, the GH gang failed to meet the Z gang members.

"However, they continued to carry out vandalism together at the cafe by pelting stones and vandalizing them using a sickle-type knife," he said.

Not accepting the motorcycle gang's brutal action, the cafe owner reported it to the Galang Police. The police immediately hunted down the motorcycle gang.

"With alacrity, the Galang Police together with the Pagar Merbau Police finally managed to secure 5 suspects along with evidence and carried out an examination," he said.

The GH motorcycle gang, knowing their members were arrested, is planning to make trouble again. They resumed their revenge against group Z, Sunday 29 May.

"However, this was thwarted by personnel from the Galang and Pagar Merbau Police, who at that time carried out joint patrols on a regular basis," he said.

From the development of the Deli Serdang Satreskrim Polresta finally managed to secure the other perpetrators. Now a total of 9 suspects have been arrested.

Kombes Irsan said his party is still coordinating with the Correctional Agency (Bapas) because it is known that the age of the suspects is still underage.

"We are still developing and will continue to search for other suspects," he said.

"The suspects were also charged with Article 170 paragraph (1) Subs Article 406 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said Kombes Irsan.
