After Aion UT Super, GAC Prepares RT Aion With Battery Swap System From CATL
JAKARTA - GAC Aion has a new strategy to attract the attention of many people, including presenting affordable car prices thanks to the battery swap system.
Previously, this Chinese brand presented the first UT Super Aion, dubbed the "Super National Good Car". This new model, is a battery version that can be exchanged. Its presence is an effort to collaborate between three giant brands ranging from GAC Group, CATL, and JD, and will be sold exclusively on the JD platform.
Not satisfied until that, most recently based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Tuesday, December 9, the company officially submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) for the Aion RT electric sedan version that can be exchanged for batteries.
It is stated that this new variant maintains specifications that are identical to the version without exchange of batteries launched on September 22, with a power-powered motor of 150 kW (201 hp).

Referring to the specifications, this electric car is available with an lithium iron phosphate CATL 55.1 kWh or 68.1 kWh battery, which offers a distance of 520 km and 650 km.
This car is also embedded with advanced autonomous driving capabilities supported by LiDAR 126 lines and the Orin-X Nvidia chip, which of course can provide a comprehensive experience for users.
Back to Aion RT with exchangeable batteries, this step is in line with the battery replacement initiative from CATL, where the battery giant partnered with five major car manufacturers to launch ten models that could be battery-substituted.
The car is currently priced between 99,800 and 123,800 yuan or Rp235-291 million, most likely the price could drop to 7,000 yuan or Rp16 million.
