JAKARTA - The official Twitter account of All India Majils-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) from India, was 'hacked' on Sunday, July 18. This is the second time in a month that Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM Twitter account has been hacked.
According to AIMIM sources The same account was hacked nine days ago but was later recovered. The handle profile name was changed from AIMIM to Tesla CEO 'Elon Musk'. The profile photo is replaced with a business photo.
However, no tweets were posted on AIMIM's Twitter account which has around 679k followers. Officials at AIMIM themselves are very worried if Twitter is being misused.
"Nine days ago also AIMIM's Twitter account was hacked but we communicated with Twitter and the account was recovered. Now the account has been hacked again," said a spokesman for the Hyderabad-based party.
He further said that they will file a complaint with Hyderabad police on Monday, 19 July. The hacking is not yet known whether it is related to their political and religious activities.
So far, if there is a twitter account hack, the user usually reports the crime to the manager of the social media service. luckily on Monday afternoon the account was finally recovered.
Now the AIMIM admin will try to tighten the security of the twitter account so that it won't be hacked for the third time.
