JAKARTA - Bing Chat has again received the new features that we have been waiting for. Now, users can revisit their old chat with chatbots thanks to the Chat History feature.
Microsoft, the owner of Bing Chat, will no longer delete the user's chat history. It will be well stored and users can see it on the right side of the chat window, as quoted from the company's blog, Tuesday, May 23.
Similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT, users can also personalize history by deleting and changing chat names based on their needs.
Even so, Microsoft seems to have enabled the Chat History feature by default and users are not given the option to disable it.
In addition to the Chat History feature, users are also presented with other new features such as the Export button, where users can share or export conversations to PDFs, text files, or Microsoft Word Documents to store their findings in a more structured way.
There are also charts and visualizations, where Microsoft eventually added visual elements to help perfect chat answers. For example, when users ask, "Increase the city in Brazil by population", and Bing Chat will then produce a chart.
Bing Chat also adds a wide range of videos to respond to. Users can click on videos to launch full-screen video overlays. If you include a time stamp, it will appear on the right and they can use it to navigate in videos.
The company has also fixed some problems where the Sharing dialogue takes longer to display than intended and does not display questions (only the answer) in shared conversations.
Not to be missed, Microsoft also increased the use of suggested words when typing user requests in Bing chats.
Lastly, increased privacy in Edge's neighbourhood also comes. Now, chats on the sidebar can summarize and answer questions about documents seen in Edge browsers, either online or on PCs.
When a user asks a question about content on a PC or personal content that is not part of the search index, Bing Chat will not record any logs of this conversation.
With the introduction of chat history, users will notice that this conversation also does not appear as part of their chat history.
