JAKARTA - Substitute Rodrygo scored the winning goal in Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Inter Milan in the third match in Group A of the Champions League played at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Madrid, Tuesday local time or Wednesday morning WIB.

Madrid's first win in the Champions League this season pushed Los Blancos to second in the group with four points, while Inter were stuck in the bottom with two points.

Launching Antara, Madrid opened the scoring through Karim Benzema's goal in the 25th minute, before captain Sergio Ramos doubled the lead of the Spanish capital team in the 33rd minute.

Inter had narrowed the gap and leveled with goals from Lautaro Martinez in the 35th minute and Ivan Perisic's 68th minute. But Rodrygo saved three points for Real with a goal in the 80th minute.

The host has spread threats from the start. Marco Asensio continued Eden Hazard's pass with a left-footed shot which was pushed over by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

A few moments later it was Federico Valverde's turn to get a Toni Kroos pass on the edge of the penalty box and let off a shot soaring narrowly over the Inter goal.

Despite the more pressure, Inter also created opportunities. Ivan Perisic persistently paved the way down the left to send a cross which Nicolo Barella headed but hit the El Real crossbar.

Another golden opportunity for Inter. Perisic cleverly sent the ball to Martinez, but his straight shot was too easy for goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

After taking turns to waste opportunities, Madrid opened the scoring through Benzema. After provoking Inter's last line of defense, Benzema reacted swiftly to Achraf Hakimi's pass for Handanovic, and outwitted the keeper before throwing the ball into an empty net.

Ramos et al doubled the advantage from a corner. The captain crept behind De Vrij to jump high and head a Kroos sent ball into the far corner of the Inter net. It was Ramos' 100th goal for Los Blancos.

Just two minutes after Real scored their second goal, Inter came back from behind with a goal from Martinez. Barella sends a heel pass from Brozovic's pass for Martinez to pass with a shot that Courtois can't reach. The 2-1 lead for Real lasted until halftime.

After halftime Inter appeared more pressing. Perisic threatens El Real's goal but Ramos blocks his shot.

Inter finally equalized with their first net chance of the second half. Perisic teamed up with Martinez to keep up his partner's header with a low left-footed shot that went into the hosts' goal.

After that the Inter goal was again threatened. Goalkeeper Handanovic had to save Kroos' left-footed strike after the German stole the ball from Brozovic.

Inter tried to threaten back with a Martinez shot that went over the bar and Perisic's failed strike.

With the match over, Rodrygo scored the winner for Real. Vinicius Junior surged down the left, before hitting the ball to fellow substitute Rodrygo, who threw a right-footed shot into the visitors' net.
