BANDARLAMPUNG - The South Lampung Police have arrested two people, one of whom is a state civil servant (ASN) who is involved in illegal levies.

The two perpetrators acted in the mode of asking for information on the results of the rapid antigen test on bus passengers when they were about to cross from Bakauheni Port to Merak, Banten.

"The two suspects, whose actions went viral on social media, were soon caught by us," said South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Edwin, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 16.

The two perpetrators of extortion were named Afrianto and Budi Riski. Afrianto is an ASN person in the government agency of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Lampung Regency.

While one other person named Budi Riski who is a bus crossing administrator at Bakauheni Port.

"The suspect Afrianto was seconded at Seaport Interdiction (SI) Bakauheni during the Emergency PPKM," he said.

Edwin explained the mode used by the two perpetrators was by asking for some money from bus passengers who did not have a certificate of rapid antigen test, so they could pass through the isolation post.

"They asked for Rp. 100,000, so they are considered to have had a rapid antigen test letter," he said.

The suspect, Budi, is tasked with coordinating with bus drivers and passengers who do not have a rapid antigen test certificate. Then the suspect, Afrianto, was tasked with escaping the bus in Bakauheni from the local officers.

"When the suspect, Budi found out that someone did not bring information on the rapid antigen test, then he communicated with Afrianto and agreed that the two of them should skip the bus," he said.

Based on the suspect's statement, they confessed to doing the action on that day alone. They have made extortion on four buses at Bakauheni Port by getting a total of Rp 1.3 million.

"When we were arrested we only got Rp. 400 thousand, the rest they have used for their needs. We are also still developing whether they have previously carried out extortion against other buses," he said again
