Band-shaped Aircraft Smoke Appears In Israel's Sky, Military Investigators Intervene

JAKARTA - The Israeli military is conducting an investigation when the celestial 'pita' phenomenon appears in a number of regions of the country on Monday.

Israel's virtual universe is busy with uploads about the band shape in the country's sky, which is attributed to a signal for hostages still being held in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Videos and images posted online show the sky's 'pitas' appearing over the Tel Aviv region, Jerusalem, and various regions around southern and northern Israel.

Later, military investigators were reportedly investigating the possibility of bands drawn with traces of condensation in Israel's sky this morning created by air force aircraft, as part of a 'stubborn initiative', quoted from The Times of Israel Dec. 16.

According to Army Radio, Air Force officials suspect their planes were used for the action, with the ribbons generally appearing in areas where military aircraft fly.

However, the commanders never approved such projects, the station reported.

There is no claim of responsibility for the sky images, while the widespread assumption is a signal to the hostages in the Gaza Strip that has not been confirmed.

However, investigators also did not rule out the possibility of the ribbons being created by normal flight activity, which is combined with atmospheric conditions to create something that looks like a symbol to the hostages.

After conducting an investigation, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has so far found a band imaged with a contrain in Israel's sky on Monday morning caused by the IAF's "routine operational activity", the military said.

The Palestinian militant group attacked Israel's southern region on October 7, 2023, leaving about 1,200 people dead and kidnapping 250 others, according to Israeli calculations.

More than 100 hostages have been released through Israeli military negotiations or rescue operations. Of the 100 people still detained in Gaza, about half are believed to be alive.
