Central Java-East Java Liaison Bridge In Sragen Collapses, Traffic Flow Turns To Tempusari

JATENG - The Winong Bridge which is the link between Central Java and East Java in Gondang District, Sragen Regency has collapsed.

Gondang Police Chief AKP Joko Widodo said the connecting bridge collapsed due to heavy rains on the evening of Sunday, December 15.

The Winong Bridge that crosses the Sawur River is 15 meters long and 4 meters wide.

As a result of this incident, public access between sub-districts, namely from Gondang District, Central Java to Sambirejo and Sine Districts, East Java was cut off.

"Thus, residents must circle through the Tempusari Bridge, Gondang and Jambeyan Bridge, Sambirejo," he said in Sragen Regency, Central Java, Monday, December 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

Meanwhile, he continued, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

Head of Highways Division, Sragen Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) Aribowo said that for the time being the flow diversion could pass through Tempursari Bridge and Jambeyan Bridge.

Related to this, his party will also follow up. So far, he said, the DPUPR has also conducted a survey at the Winong Bridge location.

"The bridge is under the authority of Sragen Regency," he said.

He admitted that he had conducted a survey to plan the construction of a new bridge and calculate its costs.

"We are trying to get out today. We are still proposing to the leadership," he concluded.
