National Police Chief Sigit Calls The Peak Of The Christmas-New Year Homecoming Flow December 21-28

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the peak of the homecoming flow at Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 is predicted to occur twice.

The peak of the first homecoming flow will take place on December 21. This prediction refers to the school holiday period.

"The prediction of homecoming flows is likely to occur around December 21 because it is a homecoming activity that may reach its peak because school children were already on holiday at that time," Sigit told reporters at PTIK, Monday, December 16.

Meanwhile, the peak of the second homecoming flow will take place on December 28. The benchmark or basis for this prediction is not detailed. However, it is estimated because it is approaching the moment of the New Year 2025.

Then, Sigit also said that there would be an increase in the number of people traveling at the moment of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. The increase reached 2.83 percent from the previous year.

"This means that approximately 110.6 million people, of which this figure in the field can certainly increase its realization," he said.

Therefore, in the context of security, the National Police together with the TNI and related stakeholders provided 2,794 posts. The Rician, 1,852 pospam, 735 service posts, and 207 integrated posts.

"To secure 61,452 security objects, including churches, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports, tourist attractions, and objects for New Year's celebrations," said Sigit.
