The head of the Lhokseumawe District Attorney's Office, Lalu Syaifudin, said that on Monday (22/5), his party had received a letter of application for a suspension of detention against suspect Hariadi.
"After being studied together with the investigative team, it turned out that it was very risky, so they refused to grant the suspension of detention of the suspect Hariadi," said Lalu Syaifudin as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.
Then Syaifudin said, for the other suspects, namely the former Mayor of Lhokseumawe Suaidi Yahya, the same thing was also applied, namely not to grant and grant the suspension of detention.
"We are worried that if the suspension of detention of the suspect in the corruption case of PT RS Arun Lhokseumawe is granted, then later there will be difficulties obtained, thus hampering or slowing the investigation process," he said.
Lalu Syaifudin said that whatever reason the suspect presented through his attorney regarding the suspension of detention had been considered and it was decided not to grant it.
"I will not tell you what the reason the suspect Hariadi submitted the request for a suspension of detention was, but of course for various reasons and we will certainly not grant the request," he said.
Previously, Lhokseumawe Kejari investigators had named two suspects in connection with the alleged corruption of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital with state losses reaching Rp44.9 billion.
The two suspects are the President Director of PT RS Arun Lhokseumawe Hariadi and former Mayor of Lhokseumawe Suaidi Yahya. The two suspects were detained at the Class IIA Lhokseumawe Prison with the status of prosecutors.
