Police officers from the Jombang Resort Police, East Java, re-opened the grave of a retired police officer, Moch Nasir (44), a resident of Banjardowo Village, Jombang District, who had been buried two months ago for a re-autopsy.

Head of the Criminal and Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Jombang Police, AKP Aldo Febrianto, said that this re-autopsy was carried out to look for additional evidence in conducting police investigations. The family felt odd about the victim's death, so the tomb was demolished.

"According to the victim's family, his brother died unnaturally. We answer the doubts of the family who made the report to the police," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 9.

His party also continues to examine a number of witnesses, both from the family and the manager of the victim's rehabilitation site. This is additional data to reveal the case.

With the autopsy process, it is hoped that there will be a bright spot in the case. Family suspicions can also be answered later. This process is also one of the decisions whether the handling of the case will continue again.

"This is also to evaluate the investigation steps whether they continue or not. Later we will see the results of the autopsy, we are waiting for the competent party from the Bhayangkara Hospital Kediri," he said.

Meanwhile, M Yusuf, who is the older brother of the late Moch Nasir, said that the family's suspicions began when he received the body of the deceased from the rehabilitation foundation where he was being treated.

"Initially I received the body at home. I saw that my sister's face was bruised. The bleeding nose continued to be bruised," said Yusuf.

He said his younger brother died on March 15, 2023, because he was suspicious of his death, the family finally reported the matter to the police and asked for a re-autopsy.

The deceased, Yusuf said, had retired almost 10 years ago with the last rank of Brigadier General. He retired due to mental disorders. The family then decided to leave the deceased to a rehabilitation foundation for people with mental disorders in Sumbermulyo Village, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency.

The deceased, who had served at the Jombang Police, was also known to have died at the foundation and his body was taken to the funeral home. The family suspected that he was a victim of persecution until he died.

The demolition process was carried out at the village cemetery, precisely Gempolpahit Hamlet, Banjardowo Village, Jombang District, Jombang Regency.

The activity of dismantling the tomb was assisted by residents, then his body was lifted and an autopsy was carried out by officers from Bhayangkara Hospital Kediri. Until now, the police are also still waiting for the autopsy results.
